Our range includes organic, fair-trade, sustainable, and gluten-free grocery products. We also provide plenty of exciting artisan and international foods.

Our History
HGD brings together over 60 years' and three generations' worth of experience in the food service industry.
Our family began this journey in Italy, when in the late 1950s our grandparents opened a trattoria (casual dining establishment focusing on traditional cuisine) in Rome. Believing in the importance of authentic, farm-fresh food, they sourced their produce and wine from the country and hill towns around Rome.
In the 60s our family migrated to Australia, and with them brought their growing vision for delivering quality grocery products. By the 70s they had opened a number of Italian restaurants in Canberra, along with a delicatessen and grocery store offering imported Italian foodstuffs.
In 1988, noticing a lack of freshly made pasta products in Canberra, the family opened a new fresh pasta sale outlet and restaurant. Using pasta-making machines brought from Italy, they gave Canberra the gift of their home country's cuisine for 10 years.
Our family's passion for and expertise in delivering quality food continues to this day with Hunter Gatherer Distributors. Their story inspires HGD to import the best international flavour to Australia and source the finest local products.
